FTI Consulting

As a consulting firm, we offer a range of services, including:

Support for Startup Companies: We assist new aerospace companies in structuring their FTI teams by assessing project scope and determining the necessary number of FTI engineers and technicians. Our services include FTI design, development of rules and procedures, and engineer training. Additionally, we create a transition plan so your company can eventually operate independently, with our support needed only for future challenges.

FTI Engineering Support: We provide additional FTI engineering hours to help companies manage workload peaks and stay on schedule when their teams are not large enough to handle all tasks. Services can be performed remotely or *on-site. In the near future, we will also offer remote engineering support from Brazil, utilizing a highly experienced (15+ years) FTI team at a more cost-effective rate.

Data Acquisition System Consultation: We offer expert guidance on selecting the right data acquisition system (DAQ) for your FTI aircraft program. This consultation is particularly valuable for teams with limited experience in DAQs, as our insights can help companies save up to seven figures on hardware purchases—depending on project scale—by avoiding costly inefficiencies.

*On-site service within a 100-mile radius of San Jose, CA, is free. For locations beyond this range, additional compensa-tion may be required and will be discussed as part of the contract. Our services are available anywhere in the U.S. and worldwide.

Design FTI Sensors

We specialize in designing FTI sensor parameters for flight test campaigns, including accelerometers, temperature sensors, strain gauges, flowmeters, potentiometers, pressure transducers, humidity sensors, Hall effect sensors, and more. Our services include:

  • Establishing Parameter Numbering Rules (for both analog signals and data buses)

  • Developing Standardized Tables to ensure system engineers provide accurate information for selecting the best sensors for each measurement

  • Creating Wiring Templates for different sensor types

  • Aligning with System Engineering to eliminate unnecessary measurements

  • Providing Training for Sensor Installation, including strain gauge application

  • *Supervising Strain Gauge Installations to ensure measurements meet the sensitivity requirements set by system engineers

  • End-to-End Design Support, including supplier sourcing, procurement management, installation planning, wiring to DAQs, connector selection, and required tooling

  • Developing Scripts and Procedures for sensor installation

  • Future Calibration Services (planned for later implementation)

*For technicians who are newly trained in strain gauge installation and lack confidence in real-world application, we offer guided supervision to ensure proper execution and accurate measurements.
